We began testing a variety of cars on biodiesel and vegetable oils, for our own personal use, almost 4 years ago, but it quickly became evident that most of the widely available information was not actually true.
Cleaner Combustion Ltd. was formed to take a more scientific approach. We bought a number of test cars and equipped them with multiple sensors so that we could gather data. The results weren't what we had been led to believe.
For example, most companies told us the oil must be heated to 85C, but coolant fed heat exchangers achieved less than 40C at the cheaper end of the range, up to just over 70C for the more expensive models. None achieved anywhere near 85C on our vehicles. We purchased other devices and found that, almost without exception, they too failed to perform as promised.
We then simply began to design our own products, which we installed on the test cars. Instantly we could spot failures. But also, we began to build up a media library which we could show to our potential customers.
Each product is road tested on two or more test cars using one or more of several specific test routes. We can therefore show potential customers a direct comparison between the two or more products on the same car and the same route. We show videos not only of our own range, but also competitors' products. For legal reasons we may choose not to closely identify the manufacturer or product, but the test results are on file if we are ever challenged.
If any company cannot, or will not, show potential customers what their product actually does before they buy it, we can only conclude either that; they have never actually tested their product; or they have tested it but have then chosen not to display what it actually achieved.
We do not produce lists of cars that can be converted, nor advise which products are best for a particular car. We will not advise which fuel is best for a specific car or pump or injector system. We accept that one customer may have successfully converted a (for example) 1998 Ford Mondeo 1.8 Tdi and run it for 40,000 miles, but we cannot use that as a guarantee that all 1998 Ford Mondeo 1.8 Tdis will work equally well.
The final choice for that must be made by the customer. We can make sure that our customers have all the information they need to make an accurate decision, based on facts and tests, not speculation or rumours.
We are offering or developing a complete range of products, and will be including test results and videos on our web site.
